Bitcoin cost check

See what a Bitcoin purchase really costs in AED. Enter what you pay and the BTC you actually receive, and get your effective price per bitcoin — every cost you include, in one number. Got two quotes? Compare them on the same basis.

Your quote
The AED you paid or will pay for the purchase.
BTC actually received or quoted, after any fee taken in BTC.
Only charges paid outside the amount above, such as a bank transfer fee. Don't repeat fees already inside it.
When the price was shown or the purchase completed, to the minute.
Moving BTC to your own wallet usually adds a withdrawal or network fee.
A displayed price isn't a firm offer, and neither is a completed purchase.

Calculated in your browser. Your amounts are not stored, put in the page address or sent to bitcoiners.ae.

How to use it

  1. Enter the AED amount you paid, or the amount on the quote.
  2. Enter the net BTC: the bitcoin you actually received or were quoted, after any fee taken in BTC.
  3. Add any separate AED charges, such as a bank transfer fee, only if they were paid outside that amount.
  4. Say where the BTC ends up and whether this was a displayed price, a firm quote or a completed purchase.
  5. Tick the box only if every cost is included. Otherwise the result is shown as partial.

What the result means

The effective price is total AED ÷ net BTC. It answers one question: for the dirhams you spend, how much bitcoin do you actually get? A lower number means more bitcoin for the same AED.

It does not tell you how much of the cost is a fee, a spread or market movement, and it is not compared with a live market price. Two quotes only line up properly when they were taken at the same time, for the same AED amount, to the same destination and with every cost included — the checker tells you whenever that isn't the case. Why a headline fee isn't the whole cost

A venue can charge a low or zero trading fee and still price the purchase above the market, because the quoted price can include a margin. What you receive for your dirhams is the number that counts. Why zero trading fees can still cost you →

Checking a whole purchase history

One quote is easy to check by hand. A year of recurring buys is harder: you need the totals weighted by what you actually bought, deposits separated from purchases, and fees charged in BTC counted correctly. See a worked example with fictional purchases →

Educational information only, not investment, financial, tax or legal advice. The checker does the arithmetic on the numbers you enter; it doesn't verify quotes, recommend a venue or predict prices.
